Alleviating Stress

This has been chosen as a research project, not because of it's intrinsic worth, but because it faces two problems many worthy sites are going to face. How to reach the global audience who could benefit and how to generate an income to sustain the site, free at the point of use. At the time of writing, Sabbatical-Research has been active for a week, being checked out daily by at least four Search-Engine bots. Yet it remains invisible to parts of the world, using the domain name. Indeed, using the IP address, it times out. It has yet to appear in any search engine, even the ones that have been searching it every day. Admittedly there is no "meta data" yet, but that is on purpose to see what happens.

This project will also test the technology. Can rural high-speed internet really deliver pictures, music and video? (Probably).

"Blue Jay" has deep sadness in her life. Not an hour goes by without a turmoil of thoughts, mulling around in her head, stopping her from sleeping. There is a world of insomniacs out there, being destroyed by regret. I say destroyed. Stress, about things you can do nothing to change, or where your efforts are in vain, is a killer. You cannot live with a constant level of stress. It accumulates and you will have a stroke or heart attack.

What to do. We have tried all sorts. This is just one more attempt. Here is the science. To take control of her thoughts and maker her laugh, or think about other things, just to give her mind a break from the misery, subsequent fatigue and pretending to function. Anything to change the constant build-up of the body's fight-or-flight biochemistry.

For "Blue Jay", I have written some short bed-time stories. They have to be short, because she is beyond concentrating. They need to catch her, from the first two sentences. To make her laugh, to make her think, even to make her cry. Touching her emotions until she comes back into the daylight.

For friends, what would we not do. You out there, we are your friends too. You matter.

This website is about referring short funny reads to others. Write a short Kindle and if it passes the "Blue Jay" test, it will be advertised. 0.99, catch them from the start, a one-go read, short sentences, give their mind a break. Lives matter.

If readers report back on the good bits, we might be able to find what helps and produce more. Please rate and provide feedback.
